Moi!
My name is Annika, I am a weaver and knitting enthusiast from Lapland. I originally received an education in fine arts from University of Lapland in 2009 but have since migrated towards making textiles. I still approach textile design with color and composition in mind as if I were painting.
In my home studio I design and make artisan textiles with and for the traditional Finnish heddle floor loom.
Living in Lapland has become part of my design philosophy, and thus my blog tends to be not only about weaving projects but also hiking and Lappish lifestyle.
In Rovaniemi we also have a community weaving studio, which is open for everyone, so why not come weave with us!
Use the contact form below or e-mail to get in touch.
If you are ever visiting Lapland, I also offer craft courses and host weekend knit'n'hike trips for those who like to craft outdoors!
SusiVilla
In 2008 I started crafting under the name Susivilla. It's Finnish for WolfyWool - it stands for what is most important to me:
untouched wilderness and natural fiber!
